To put this in context 7950 is now the primary aerosapce aluminium alloy used in Defence and Aerospace applications. It is the primary alloy used in the F/A-18, the Super Hornet and the Joint Strike Fighter. This paper will present the results of a detailed experimental and analytical study into the growth of near micron size flaws and will relate the implication of these findings to fleet management. Whole Life Asset Management in interconnected infrastructure systems
Infrastructures become increasingly interconnected. For example, IT penetration into energy infrastructures turns them into 'smart grids'. This makes previously disconnected infrastructures interdependent in their day-to-day operations, and it requires alignment of the asset management processes and activities. Complicating this alignment, however, are greatly different time constants for innovations. This alignment and its impact on overall system performance, downtime and cost can be analysed by using Agent Based and System Dynamic models. |
